Association Guides,

Member Directories

The Open Education Association maintains both a Public Member Directory and a Member-Only Directory to support visibility, connection, and engagement across the association.

The Public Member Directory highlights association members and helps showcase the individuals and institutions advancing open education. This directory is publicly accessible and reflects information from each member’s profile.

Public Member Directory

The Member-Only Directory provides additional information, such as areas of expertise, to help members learn more about one another. It also provides a way to message members, supporting direct connections within the association. This directory is accessible only to logged-in members of the association.

Member-Only Directory

Members are encouraged to explore both directories to learn more about the community and to ensure their own profile information is complete and up to date. Completing your member profile is the first step to being accurately represented in the directories.

Directory FAQs

Your member profile contains fields that support both the Public Directory and the Member Directory.

  • Public Directory information can include: name, professional bio, photo, profession, education, and awards
  • Member Directory information can include: name, professional bio, photo, profession, job title, areas of expertise, state, presentation portfolio, education, and awards
You can adjust what is visible in the Directories at any time by logging into your member portal and going to your profile. Here you can fill out and update the fields you would like showcased in either directory.
By default, only your name and profession will be shown in your public profile. A photo, your LinkedIn profile link, professional bio, education, and awards can all be showcased on your public profile if you fill out this information in your member profile settings. Once the information is in your member profile it will automatically appear in the Public Directory. If you no longer wish your information to be in the public directory you can change the setting in your profile, or you can contact us for assistance.
The Member Directory is a members-only resource that helps Open Education Association members find peers by role, interest, institution, or region. Members control what information appears in their directory entry by selecting which fields they fill out in the Member Portal Profile tab.
Members who are logged into their account can send a message to other association members in the Member Directory by clicking on the “email member” icon. (Note that email addresses are not directly shared.)
