Professional Bio

I describe myself as an innovator specializing in scholarly communication, open education, and information science, with over ten years of experience in academic libraries.

As Librarian for the Behavioral Sciences and Open Knowledge at Georgia State University, I provide differentiated instruction to undergraduate and graduate students in the behavioral and social sciences, as well as instructional design and research consultation to faculty and graduate teaching assistants. By serving the disciplines of neuroscience, psychology, and sociology, I have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with researchers, students, and faculty who contribute knowledge to society.

I additionally serve as GSU Library’s team lead for open knowledge initiatives, including our international Open For Student Success Symposium. My longstanding commitment to public service and librarianship is demonstrated in my portfolio of projects that foster community, critical thinking, and progress.

I additionally contribute to the profession through active service on library, university, and national committees, and I regularly share my expertise with professional communities at local and national conferences. My research investigates faculty motivation and barriers to the integration of open and affordable course content. Want to learn more about my work? Message me to discuss!
