Professional Bio
Ash Barber is the Lead, Strategic Communications, and the former Senior Coordinator, OER Collective at CAUL. Ash has extensive experience in growing relationships and communities and is deeply committed to advocacy in open and higher education. She is a co-convenor of the ASCILITE Australasian Open Educational Practice Special Interest Group, co-host of the podcast Speaking of Open where she has conversations with open educators in Australasia, and chairs the board of the international Open Education Conference.
Through her multifaceted experience as a librarian in higher education, she is attuned to the interests and issues affecting academic libraries in Australasia and has a keen eye for sourcing opportunities that advance sector goals. She values kindness, ethical community collaboration, and the courage to act.
